Rico and Oskar are two boys living in Berlin. Both attend a special school where their student’s individual differences and special needs are addressed. Some people might call Rico and Oskar oddballs. But there is most certainly more to them. They’ve managed to form their safe haven and gathered a group of fellow misfits to better deal with a world that wasn’t taylormade for them. 

Andreas Steinhöfel wrote five books about Rico’s and Oskar’s adventures. They are already considered to be classics of German children’s book literature. In 2019, SAD ORIGAMI, Andreas’s own production company he runs together with his co-producer and co-writer Klaus Döring, approached us to direct and animate five episodes of their series “Rico & Oskar” for German television.
